The Aquarium of the Pacific
The Aquarium of the Pacific is a public aquarium in California that offers visitors extensive opportunities to experience the wonders of the ocean and its wildlife. The aquarium is committed to ensuring it has a small environmental footprint by curbing energy needs, saving water, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2020, the Aquarium of the Pacific built on its employee engagement program with Earthwatch and expanded to send seven adult volunteers and one employee on an Earthwatch expedition. These experiences serve as a capstone for those volunteering with the aquarium, giving them a chance to travel to the natural habitats of the aquatic animals they work with and work directly with leading researchers to conserve them.
YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
Earthwatch depends on donations—above and beyond what we raise from volunteers who participate in our expeditions—to deliver our global conservation mission. In fact, volunteer contributions provide only half of the total resources Earthwatch needs to sustain over 20 global field research expeditions, a wide variety of educational programs, corporate sustainability trainings, and more each year.
